Chai latte oats

Weekend! That means more time to do your breakfast and enjoy it! Today I was feeling experimental with my oats today, yes you can be experimental with oats even if you don’t believe it! I love chocolate oats, matcha lemon oats and today I created a Chai latte oats, the result was delicious and of course packed with superfoods to make it even better. 
Oats are a great way to start your day, makes you feel satisfied, controls the sugar levels in blood and helps you to have a healthy cardiovascular system. 
Now let’s get to the fun facts about the superfoods I used, definitely you don’t need to have all of this, are completely optional, you can have one or even make the oats without them and still will be a great breakfast. 

I know superfoods aren’t the cheapest thing on earth, but is an investment, less trips to the doctor, less medicines…I love them, I can’t go a day without having at least one. If I get to chose just one it will be maca. So let’s start with that. 


-Maca: a Peruvian root well known for its aphrodisiac properties. Increases fertility, beats menstrual discomfort, helps to improve memory, libido, memory, energy, hormonal balance, thyroid support and on top of that improves prostate health and cell formation (prostate cancer? Ain’t nobody got time for that!). Besides some friends and I have noticed our breasts (boobies sounds more cute) are a little bigger while consuming maca. In Peru people know about this effect but no scientific study has been done yet, but I’m happy with the results! 

The recommended dosage is 1 teaspoon to 2 per day BUT you need to get used to it, if you have a weak stomach start with 1/4 tsp daily and increase the amount after one week. A few days ago seems I almost poisoned someone because he had too much maca for the first time (guys are so over dramatic!!!) so let’s start with a little to avoid bloating or find gelantanized maca and you will avoid upsetting your stomach. 
-Goji Berries. There’s a documented case of a man who lived 252 years, he consumed goji berries and ginseng daily. I want what he was having! Even if we can’t prove he was indeed 252 years old, if fact, it’s a myth, goji berries are well known for its anti ageing properties, enhance stamina, strenght, longevity, sexual energy (i must change the name to aphrodisiac oats…), kidney health, liver protection, eyesight, blood quality… I can keep writing about the benefits but let’s be clear: goji berries are an adaptogen which means it helps the body to deal with stress and strengthens the whole system. 

I also added hemp hearts, coconut, cacao nibs, lucuma, mesquite… but we can talk about those amazing foods other day. 
So recipe! 


INGREDIENTS 

10min 

1 serving 
1/4 cup GF quick oats (I used bob’s red mill) 

1/2 cup coconut milk 

1 chai tea bag 

1 tsp Lucuma 

1 tsp maca 

1/2 tsp mesquite 
Toppings in the photo: hemp hearts, goji berries, cacao nibs, banana, blueberries, coconut. 
DIRECTIONS 
1. Put the coconut milk on lower heat 

2. When the milk gets hot, put the chai teabag in the milk and keep it there for 2mins. 

3. Add the rest of the ingredients and cook for 3 min. 

4. Serve and add your toppings, you can drizzle a little honey, agave nectar or maple syrup. 

5. Rise and shine sunshine!
